My fav TV character: Nigella Lawson

Apart from the usual genres of programming content such as horror, crime, family, comedy, etc., food-based programming has gained momentum in recent times. Channels today are experimenting with a many food shows to add variety to their existing bouquet.

Raj Deepak Das, ECD, BBDO, talking about his favourite TV character, said that Nigella Lawson adds her own special charm to the food show and has the ability to present food in a very attractive manner.

Celebrity chef Nigella Lawson’s food show ‘Nigella Kitchen’ on TLC is based on her cookbook of the same title. She offers recipes and ideas for feel-good food that is quick and easy to make at the end of a long, hard day. The idea is to make every day special and to make special days easy. From anti-oxidant fruit salads to chocolate delights, Nigella offers simple guides for those perfect dishes.

Who is your favourite character in the television space?
I like Nigella Lawson from the show ‘Nigella Kitchen’ on the TLC channel.

What do you like about her?
I really admire the way she cooks and talks, which is nothing short of amazing. It gives a certain flow to the show.

Do you think she does justice to the food show?
Yes, she certainly fits the role of the host perfectly and brings her sense of individuality to the entire show.

Do you think the popularity of a particular character extends itself to the show or a show shapes up the characters?
According to me, in this case Nigella has shaped up the show. It wouldn't be the same if someone else was hosting it.

How often do you tune in to Nigella Kitchen?
I tune in every time it is aired on the channel.
