MP govt orders SIT probe into Aaj Tak journalist Akshay Singh's death

After the mysterious death of India Today’s journalist Akshay Singh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan Chief Minster of Madhya Pradesh has ordered an SIT probe in the matter.

Addressing the media in a press conference the CM said that government has no objection if MP High Court carries out a probe with the help of any other agency including CBI, stated TV Reports.

Sharing his condolences he said, “It is very unfortunate. Our condolences are with his family. We are writing to the SIT with a request to carry out through investigation.”

Media reports suggest, when a journalist asked whether the government has any objection of CBI probe made my congress. He replied by saying that government has no objection if the High Court wants a probe tobe  done from Central Bureau of Investigation or any other agency.”

Akshay Singh, who was a part of the Special Investigation Team of Aaj Tak  of the India Today Group has died in mysterious circumstances. He had just interviewed the parents of a girl accused in the Vyapam scam, who was found dead. Immediately after the interview 36 year old Akshay Singh took ill and was taken to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
