Most Bengali GECs see ratings dip in week 8

In week 8 (February 15 – 21, 2015) of the regional channels market most of the channels in the regional space saw a drop in ratings since the previous week.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers CS4+, in the Bihar & Jharkhand market Big Magic Ganga saw a large increase in its ratings this week to 2238 GVTs this week from 1474 GVTs in week 7. Mahuaa Plus saw its ratings drop significantly on the other hand to 980 GVTs in week 8 from 1403 GVTs in week 7. Anjan increased marginally to 635 GVTs in week 8 from 627 GVTs in week 7. Mahuaa however decreased to 426 GVTs in week 8 from 654 GVTs in week 7. Dabangg UP UTKD Bihar stood at 241 GVTs this week.

In the West Bengal markets, Star Jalsha decreased in its ratings to 101,314 GVTs in week 8 from 102,166 GVTs in week 7. Zee Bangla too decreased in its ratings this week to 83,519 GVTs from 95,472 GVTs in week 7. ETV Bangla saw a marginal incline this week to 24,190 GVTs in week 8 from 24,057 GVTs in week 7. Aakaash Aath declined to 13,650 GVTs in week 8 from 15,072 GVTs in week 7. Rupashi Bangla increased to 1888 GVTs in week 8 from 2034 GVTs in week 7.

In the Tamil Nadu market, Sun TV increased marginally to 219,901 GVTs in week 8 from 212,433 GVTs in week 7. Vijay increased to 110,276 GVTs in week 8 from 84,973 GVTs in week 7. Zee Tamil saw a marginal increase in its ratings this week to 22,351 GVTs from 22,105 GVTs last week. Raj TV declined to 17,707 GVTs in week 8 from 18,741 GVTs in week 7. Kalaignar TV too declined to 16,957 GVTs in week 8 from 18,209 GVTs in week 7. Jaya TV declined to 13,224 GVTs in week 8 from 16,299 GVTs in week 8. Mega TV marginally declined this week to 5673 GVTs from 5869 GVTs a week earlier. Captain TV increase this week to 5091 GVTs from 3916 GVTs in the previous week.

The Maharashtra market saw Zee Marathi’s ratings decline marginally to 146,467 GVTs in week 8 from 148,482 GVTs in week 7. ETV Marathi on the other hand increased marginally to 54,562 GVTs in week 8 from 54,258 GVTs in week 7. Star Pravah saw an increase in week 8 to 54,060 GVTs from 52,933 GVTs in week 7. Mi Marathi increased to 12,519 GVTs in week 8 from 11,268 GVTs in week 7.

Udaya in the Karnataka market saw its ratings fall to 67,110 GVTs this week from the previous week’s 72,311 GVTs. ETV Kannada increased its ratings to 57,103 GVTs in week 8 from 55,425 GVTs in week 7. Suvarna also increased its ratings this week to 44,240 GVTs from 43,958 GVTs in week 7. Zee Kannada increased its ratings to 35,737 GVTs in week 8 from 31,787 GVTs in week 7. Kasturi in week 8 declined to 7341 GVTs in week 8 from 7955 GVTs in week 7.

In the Andhra Pradesh market, Gemini saw its ratings increase to 117,500 GVTs in week 8 from 109,721 GVTs in week 7. Maa TV on the other hand saw its ratings fall to 98,705 GVTs this week from 101,083 GVTs in the previous week. ETV fell this week to 85,742 GVTs from 86,429 GVTs in week 7. Zee Telugu increased its ratings marginally to 84,671 GVTs in week 8 from 84,086 GVTs in week 7. Vissa also increased marginally to 212 GVTs this week from 208 GVTs in week 7.

Asianet among the Malayalam GECs saw an increase in week 8 to 52,644 GVTs from 56,052 GVTs in week 7. Mazhavil Manorama saw its ratings decline marginally in week 8 to 15,462 GVTs from 15,756 GVTs in week 7. Surya too marginally declined this week to 15,063 GVTs in week 8 from 15,079 GVTs in week 7. Asianet Plus declined in week 8 to 6029 GVTs from 6449 GVTs in week 7. Kairali on the other hand increased to 4407 GVTs in week 8 from 3969 GVTs in week 7. Amrita increased in week 8 to 2775 GVTs from 2263 GVTs in week 7.
