Modi Govt launches new campaign on first year anniversary

The campaign ‘Saal Ek Shuruaat Anek’ showcases the work done by the government in one year with all the ministries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an open letter to the citizens of the country, said, “Our objective is to transform quality of life, infrastructure and services. Together we shall build the India of your dreams and that of our freedom fighters. In this, I seek your blessings and continued support.”

Launching the campaign, Arun Jaitley, Minister of Information and Broadcasting said that the multimedia exhibition based on the given theme was an attempt to showcase the achievements and policy initiatives across different sectors. The multimedia mode had been adopted to sensitise the people on the different initiatives taken across critical sectors. As part of the outreach initiative, the I&B Ministry would highlight the said initiative across state capitals and rural areas, he said.

This exercise was being undertaken in view of the focused approach in disseminating information through the different media units. Col Rajyavardhan Rathore, Minister of State for I&B, Bimal Julka, Secretary (I&B), DG: DAVP and senior officers of the Ministry were present on the occasion.

Media reports suggest that ad veteran Piyush Pandey was actively involved with this project and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting worked closely with several ministries to collate all the information.

Elaborating further, Jaitley said that under the current initiative, exhibitions of the similar kind would be organised in all State capitals along with one more city/site in each state, except Bengaluru (Bengaluru will be covered in second phase as Model Code of Conduct is in place for local body elections in the state). The exhibition in the state capitals would commence tomorrow and end on the first of June.

Under the Phase-II of the exhibition outreach programme, 30 sites had been selected with varying dates of commencement. The campaign on such sites would commence around June 7 and end on June 20. In all 60 states, multimedia exhibitions are expected to be organised.

As part of the rural outreach programme to sensitise the rural masses, DAVP was also deploying 345 mobile exhibitions to reach out to 643 districts in the country for a period of one month. Jaitley also flagged off the Multi Media Mobile Van from the exhibition site along with Col Rajyavardhan Rathore.

The multimedia exhibition being organised by DAVP and covering states focuses on the following critical sectors highlighting the achievements in the last one year:
