MIPCOM registers strong Indian participation

For the first time over 100 delegates from Indian broadcasting industry attended the MIPCOM 2002 Conference and Market, which being held in Cannes (7 - 11 Oct).

On Tuesday night Zee Network's associate company E City hosted the Animation Producers Association of India debut in Cannes. Speaking on the occasion Subhash Chandra, Chairman of Zee Network said, "We have come a long way in the past decade and I am now seeing a robust growth in all the areas of Indian Entertainment including Films, Television and Animation."

Among the members of Indian Broadcasting Community attending MIPCOM 2002 are G Krishnan of Aajtak, Deepak Shourie of Discovery, Ravi Gupta of B4U, Mark Young of BBC and. Bhuvan Lall of IBF. Programming heads of Eenadu TV, Sahara, Star TV, UTV and Zee TV are also attending the event.

Other Indian companies attending MIPCOM include Dataquest, Crest, NFDC, Toonz Animation, Miditech, Escotoonz, and Heart Animation. Three Indian companies are also exhibiting at MIPCOM are E City, MUV Technologies and India Vision.

MIPCOM is an event, where international players from the TV industry make an appointment with the TV world. It provides a market platform, where programming policies are implemented and trends are spotted for those involved in TV broadcasting, programme production & distribution, DVD & the Internet, advertising, consultancy and new media.
