'Masterchef Australia S8-Finale' pumps up Star World ratings twofold in week 34

The telecast of the finale episode of ‘Masterchef Australia S8’ on Star World improved the viewership of the slot exponentially, according to BARC data of week 34 (20-26 August, 2016). Also, the live coverage of P.V.Sindhu’s felicitation by Telangana and AP government improved Telugu news genre viewership. Meanwhile, the telecast of ‘WWE Specials 2016 - Summer Slam’ – Live on Ten 1 (SD+HD) fetched impressive ratings.

The telecast of the finale episode of ‘Masterchef Australia S8’ on Star World on Friday (21:00– 23:21) increased viewership by 2.8 times. The ratings rose to 20.6 impressions ‘000s which were 7.3 impressions ‘000s in the past four weeks.

The live coverage of P.V.Sindhu’s felicitation by Telangana and AP government improved Telugu news genre viewership by 42 per cent and 15 per cent respectively. The ratings for Monday (09:30 -14:00) rose to 2748 impressions ‘000s with respect to previous four weeks’ average of 1929 impressions ‘000s. Whereas, for Tuesday (11:30 -13:45) the ratings rose to 1500 impressions ‘000s with respect to previous four weeks’ average of 1305 impressions ‘000s.

The 61st birthday celebrations of ‘Mega Star Chiranjeevi’  on TV9 Telugu increased viewership of the slot by more than two times. On Monday (19:07 -21:56) the ratings rose to 870 impressions ‘000s versus the previous four weeks’ average of 395 impressions ‘000s.

The telecast of ‘WWE Specials 2016 - Summer Slam’ – Live on Ten 1 (SD+HD) fetched 751 impressions ‘000s on Monday (02:30 – 08:34). The repeat telecast of the programme on Ten 1 – on Monday (17:01 – 21:43) and on Ten 1 HD  on Monday (13:00 12:28) garnered 4280 impressions ‘000s.

The telecast of ‘UFC 202 Live - Nate Diaz vs Conor McGregor 2’ on Sony SIX and Sony ESPN on Sunday (07:30 – 10:13) improved viewership by 66 per cent. The previous four weeks’ average ratings which stood at 203 impressions ‘000s rose to 336 impressions ‘000s in week 34.
