Kannada news channel Janasri to launch on Feb 18

Janasri, the Kannada news channel from politicians and miners Reddy Brothers of Bellary, is finally ready for launch and will make its debut on February 18, 2011. The date was confirmed by officials at the TV channel.

It may be recalled that in June 2010, another Kannada news channel, Samaya 24x7, was launched. The channel had long been awaiting launch and is the brainchild of industrialist and politician Satish Jarakihole.

Some of the other players in the Kannada news domain include TV9, Sun TV’s Udaya Varthegalu and Suvarna 24x7.

The group released the Little Hearts online-only campaign, #BreakSomeHearts, early this year and is on the path to make many more of its brands available on the digital platform
