Jaya TV to launch new chat-debate show, ‘Makkal Arangam’, from November 19

‘Makkal Arangam’, a new chat-debate show, will be premiering on Jaya TV from November 19. Popular actor-director Vishu, who was hosting ‘Arattai Arangam’ on Sun TV, will anchor the new show and would be traveling across Tamil Nadu with his team to organise the show. The show would be aired on Sundays at 11 am.

K Balaswaminathan, Vice-president, Marketing, Jaya TV, said, “This show is a perfect platform for the speakers to discuss in detail about the various problems confronting the modern society. ‘Makkal Arangam’ will not be partial on any count as the very essence of the show is to do good for the people.”

Echoing the same view, V Muraliraaman, Vice-president, Programmes & Operations, Jaya TV, said, “We always wanted to keep our viewers engaged and entertained and ‘Makkal Arangam’ is a step in this direction. Every channel should have some sort of social commitment and this show will not only analyse various problems encountered by people in their daily lives, but also strive to find solutions for the same.”

Regarding promoting the show, Balaswaminathan, said, “There is no need to carry out any promotional activities. Promotions are carried only to create awareness whenever a new show is launched. When actor Vishu himself is hosting the show, it already becomes the talk of the town. Why should there be any promotional activities? However, we need to keep the people informed and, therefore, the usual promos would be carried on the channel and through other modes.”

The first phase of the shooting of ‘Makkal Arangam’ was held in Gopichettipalayam.

For the record, the popular ‘Arattai Arangam’ show, which was anchored by Vishu earlier on Sun TV, is now anchored by popular orator, Professor Solomon Pappaiah.
