The game show fever is on in full swing in Tamil Nadu. Post the phenomenal success of 'Jackpot' hosted by actress Khushboo, Jaya TV has announced the launch of its second game show – this one live and interactive – called 'House Full' hosted by popular film actress Meena. An innovative variation of the Tambola, the show will be aired on Sundays, between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm, from October 9.
"The USP of the show is that everybody can participate. Being completely interactive and live, it will be different from the current offerings and the prize money, too, at over Rs 100,000 per episode, will be a big draw for the show," said Murali Raaman, VP, Programmes and Operations, Jaya TV.
The show marks the entry of another actress to television – the 'fish-eyed' Meena, who started her career as a child artiste in a Rajnikant-starrer. She had shared at a media interaction that she was unwilling to enter the soap genre and preferred to take the game show route because of the option of interacting live with the audience.
Added Raaman, "We are confident that Meena will attract audiences from all walks of life. She speaks Tamil fluently and is extremely presentable. These are the factors that drew us to go with her as anchor."
The channel had launched a teaser campaign asking audiences to guess what kind of a show the actress will host on SMS channel 3636. The contest, which was launched two weeks ago, attracted over 100,000 hits, according to the channel. A second set of promos is on air over the last three days and the person registering the maximum number of downloads will be the first participant on the show.
The set-based show will allow audiences to participate on the set via phone and through SMS channel 3636.
