Is Sagarika Ghose joining Times Group? Twitter buzz says so

There is a strong buzz on Twitter that Sagarika Ghose, former Deputy Editor of IBN18 Network (CNN-IBN) is joining Times News Network following a tweet by Subramanian Swamy, former Union Cabinet Minister and BJP member, which stated: “Arnab has a new ally in TNN-Sagarika.”

This started trending within couple of hours and is currently trending among top ten in India. It is not yet known whether she will be joining the broadcasting or print segment of the Times Group.

Following Ghose’s exit from IBN18 earlier this month there have been a lot of speculations about her next destination. Putting a halt to the speculations, Ghose had tweeted on July 28, 2014: “Delighted about my new assignment starting August. An honour and for me a homecoming too! :)”

Meanwhile, there are mixed reactions to the tweet about Ghose joining TNN:

@parmarsap “Nationalist..Take a stand Say no to those who sponsor Anti-Nationalist Economically bleed them dry TNN-Sagarika”

@Lazy_Gal “After a long gap, she’s back on twitter trends. #TNN-Sagarika”

@hanchatemahesh “From Now @timesnow should be called @GREENTIMESNOW to prove there SECULAR Credentials.”

Ghose has been a journalist since 1991 and has earlier worked with The Times of India, Outlook magazine and The Indian Express. She has won several awards in journalism and is the author of two novels.
