India News emerges as one of the fastest growing news channels

As per the data sourced from BARC subscribers  (TG 4+, Week 03’16-Week 10’16), India News has emerged as one of the fastest growing Hindi News Channels with 61, 020 impressions and a share of 11.1 per cent.

The network also witnessed maximum gain in the DAS III roll out to become one of the most viewed channel across the HSM category.

Commenting on the latest BARC data, Kartikeya Sharma, Founder and Promoter at iTV Network said
"Since we started operations, we have been involved in a number of firsts. We were the fastest growing Hindi news channel and we are consistently performing in our markets. We have focussed and done well in key geographies in the Hindi speaking belt, especially in markets like UP, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. In fact, if you take a longer average in these four geographies, we are even above India TV. We have put in a lot of hard work; all the teams, including the content team."

Speaking about the DAS III roll out, Sharma added, "We have gained 30 per cent market share because we have a huge rural viewership. We have been on DigiDirect from the start. The other national players came much later but it is not only this; but the fact that we have always had a strong rural presence."

According to the latest BARC data, India News became the fourth most watched Hindi News channel. And as far as the eight weeks average is concerned, the channel is at No.3 in the pecking order.
