India-Bangladesh cricket series on Raj TV and Vissa TV in Tamil, Telegu

Raj TV Network has signed a deal with Neo Sports Live for broadcasting language feeds of the India-Bangladesh cricket series that is commencing from May 10. Both Raj TV and Vissa TV will broadcast the series in Tamil and Telegu. The series will include three ODIs and two test matches.

Raju Easwaran, COO-Creative, Raj TV, said, “Cricket is the only true national passion that is followed equally across the length and breadth of the country. This innovation around cricket is sure to capture the imagination and fancy of cricket lovers on both channels. We expect unprecedented ratings at the back of a strong channel reach and penetration, coupled with viewer-friendly regional commentary, around what should be a very exciting series.”

The cricket feed will include the Neo Sports logo and also present an advertising opportunity for local advertisers and brands.

Commenting on the same, Shashi Kalathil, CEO, Neo Sports Broadcast, said, “Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are two of the largest cable TV markets but have a very small TV viewership for cricket. It has always been our strategic intent to cater specifically to this audience via regional language feeds and in bringing value to both the viewer and advertiser.”

He added, “In what is now seen as a ‘fresh start’ for Team India, and in the backdrop of the World Cup result, the Bangladesh tour is being billed as a revenge series of sorts, resulting in heightened interest nationally.”
