BBC World and IN Mumbai signed an agreement to air BBC World content on IN Mumbai, Mumbai's news and events channel. The content will be made up of BBC world's programmes like Wheels, which is an automobile show, Talking Movies, a film review and magazine show and India Business Report, a show on Business and finance with week's economic news from across India.
Both the parties seem to be in a win-win situation. BBC world, with this agreement, will reach to a large subscriber base of In Mumbai and In Mumbai; in turn will get a rich content thru BBC World.
Says RC Khanduri, CEO of IN Network Entertainment, "The agreement is of strategic importance and comes at a time when channels are anxious to reach larger audiences and at the same time to bring new and varied content to viewing audiences." He further adds, "The large subscriber base of IN Mumbai will mean a wider audience for BBC World programmes and we look forward to developing this association further."
"This new agreement marks a further step in the development of BBC World in India and builds on the existing partnership which BBC World Service radio has with INCableNet to provide BBC radio programs 24 hours a day via InCableNet in Mumbai.
I am delighted that more people than ever in Mumbai will be able to enjoy them on a regular basis." Adds Jonathan Howlett, Director, Airtime Sales, BBC World.
These progammes would be available to In Mumbai cable subscribers as part of their weekly schedule.
