ICC CWC'11: UNI TV teams up with Rediff, Espncricinfo

In this season of the World Cup, where every brand and media entity is seeking to gain maximum mileage out of cricket, UNI TV has entered into a strategic pact with rediff.com and espncricinfo.com to provide exclusive content capsules from the ICC World Cup Cricket 2011. The channel has also brought in Kiran More, former wicketkeeper of the Indian cricket team, as Consulting Cricket Editor.

Speaking to exchange4media on this development, Yashwant Deshmukh, CEO, UNI TV, said, “We will be providing both the websites exclusive cricket content throughout the World Cup tournament. We have deployed more than 70 cameramen for the coverage of this mega event in all the venues of the matches. This is just a start, we are likely to extend this deal even after the tournament gets over.”

He further said that through the UNI TV feed, live press conference on the Cricket World Cup was also being webcast on espncrickinfo.com. The channel is covering the tournament in a big way with lots of special programmes. “Soon, the group can leverage the mobile platform as well for speedy news and better connectivity,” Deshmukh informed.

Meanwhile, Pradeep Singh, Executive Editor, UNI TV, remarked, “The time duration of the content capsules being provide to the websites is almost 2 minutes.”

Meanwhile, Kiran More will be handling all sports related assignments, including the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament as well. He will also be providing the channel expert analysis on the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, besides other national and international cricketing events.
