To give an indication on how big are the numbers, for the same TG and market, in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003, the India-Kenya semi-final match rated 19.26 TVR. The India vs. Pakistan Group Match in the 2003 World Cup rated 24.48 TVR.
To give another comparison, in the T20 World Cup 2007, the India vs. Pakistan final match had rated only 14.43 TVR.
Industry leaders had told exchange4media prior to the match that the expectation for all India rating from the India-Pakistan match ranged anywhere between 15 to 20 TVR. But some expected more after India won the match.
As a recap, in the C&S 4+ six-metro markets, of the 42 qualifying matches leading up the Quarter Finals, the India-West Indies match scored a rating of 9.96 TVR, making it the third most viewed match in the tournament. Higher up was the India-England match with a rating of 12.63 TVR, followed by the India-South Africa match scoring a 10.85 TVR. The India-Ireland came close behind with a match rating of 9.80 TVR in these markets.
