The I&B Ministry has cleared the licenses of B.A.G. Films and Media Ltd’s forthcoming satellite channels – E24 and Bliss24. Informed sources have confirmed this to exchange4media. E24 is the entertainment channel of the company, while Bliss24 is the channel that would deal with mind, body and soul, and is expected to be launched in the second phase.
BAG Films has plans to come up with a total of four channels, of which two are already geared up for launch – E24 and News24, the 24-hour Hindi news channel.
Gursheel Walia has been appointed as Programming Head, while Mushtaq Shiekh is the Creative Director for the upcoming glamour channel.
Meanwhile, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 7.85 million in Q1. It has also recorded a net income from sales and operations that appreciated to Rs 91.91 million from Rs 87.65 million in Q1. The media group is all set to bring its entire broadcast initiative under the ‘Network24’ brand umbrella.
BAG has recently made some key appointments like Amit Ray, who has joined as Chief Strategy Officer; Pratik Basu, who has joined as Executive Director, and Sanjeev Kalia, who has joined as National Sales Head for News24.
After a long stint as a production house, BAG Films and Media Ltd has also forayed into radio with the launch of Radio Dhamaal in Hissar and Karnal. BAG Infotainment (P) Ltd, a subsidiary of BAG Films and Media Ltd, has won 10 FM radio licenses in the cities of Hissar, Karnal, Patiala, Jabalpur, Shimla, Ahmadnagar, Jalgaon, Dhule, Muzaffarpur and Ranchi.
