Hindi news channels see 80% boost in ratings: BARC @ Week 12

The telecast of the ‘Uttar Pradesh CM oath taking ceremony’ improved viewership for both Hindi and English News channels, according to BARC data for week 12 (March 18–24). Hindi News channels garnered 5.5 million impressions on Sunday (March 19) from 14:00 to 16:00, a jump of 80 per cent from the previous four weeks’ average of 2.3 million impressions. On the other hand, English News channels garnered 19,000 impressions on Sunday (March 19) from 14:00 to 16:00, up by 2.6 times from the previous four weeks’ average of 8,000 impressions.
 

The telecast of ‘Aap Ki Adalat with Jain Muni Tarun Sagar’ on India TV improved viewership by 2.3 times, garnering 1.8 million impressions on Saturday from 21:57 to 23:19, as compared to the previous four week’s average of 0.7 million impressions.

The telecast of the Paytm-17 India vs. Australia 3rd Test match on STAR Sports 1 and 3 (SD+HD), raked in 6.3 million impressions on Saturday from 9:30 to 16:44, 8.8 million impressions on Sunday from 9:30 to 16:45, and 6.3 million impressions on Monday from 9:30 to 16:25.

The premier of ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ on Star Movies increased viewership in both the airings on Sunday. It fetched 0.2 million impressions on Sunday from 13:00 to 15:04, up 2.6 times from the previous four weeks’ average of 0.1 million impressions. For the second airing on Sunday from 21:00 to 23:03, it fetched 0.2 million impressions, up 2 times from the previous four weeks’ average of 0.1 million impressions.
