Hindi GECs to see 3 new shows

Hindi general entertainment channels Colors and Imagine have announced the launch of their new shows in the coming weeks.

‘Dekh Video Dekh’, a laughter therapy show, will offer a collection of videos from across the country. The show will premiere on Saturday, March 19 in the 8.30 pm slot. The show has been produced by I AM Production, the reality wing of Sagar Pictures and will be hosted by Sunil Grover. The show will also give viewers the opportunity to send in their hilarious home videos which will be played on the show. It will also showcase some candid moments of the channel’s stars, capturing them off guard and out of their characters.

In a press note, Ashvini Yardi, Head, Programming, COLORS said, “After entertaining our viewers with our fiction and reality shows, we want to give our viewers a good dose of laughter over the weekend. Comedy is the healthiest source of entertainment and we wish to add this to our programming mix. With this, our Shandaar Shanivaar band will have a perfect mix of comedy, horror, crime and unusual talents. We are hoping to get the culture of weekend family viewing back with the inception of the Saturday band.”

Breaking away from the cult of conventional saas-bahu soaps, Imagine TV presents ‘Looteri Dulhan’, tale of a con girl for whom marriage is not a sacred institution but a means of earning income. The show is said to be based on true life incidents from across the country and is produced by Bag Films, scheduled to begin on March 28, on weekdays at 9:30 pm.

Announcing the launch, Saurabh Tewari, Head of Programming Fiction, Imagine TV said in an official note, “Looteri Dulhan is a unique story and inspired by true life incidents. With a compelling and a fast paced storyline coupled with nail biting incidents, the show will surely captivate the interest of our viewers across the country.”
