CONNECT Broadband Services Ltd (CBSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of HFCL Infotel Ltd (HITL), has announced a strategic tie-up with Star India Pvt Ltd (SIPL) to carry content over CBSL's network in Chandigarh and Punjab.
"The partnership would enable high-quality cable television experience for customers.
"This partnership will also introduce the concept of organised customer service delivery that will include specialised customer care for the cable broadcast subscribers. Going forward, this partnership will enable both the brands to provide digital content and other IP-based services such as video-on-demand and pay-per-view," said a press release.
CBSL is rolling out cable broadcast services in Punjab and Chandigarh and will soon expand to other states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
The cable broadcast network has also enabled "Triple Play Services" — telephone, high-speed Internet and cable TV — on a single cable.
This will enable Star TV to increase its market and tap into new business opportunities in IP-based services.
