Headlines Today launches show on world cuisine

TV Today Network’s Headlines Today has launched a new show, ‘Foodie Fundas’, that would take the viewers on a culinary journey throughout the world over a period of 13 weeks. The show will go on air from September 16. Rashmi Uday Singh, World Gourmand Cookbook Award winner and author of 14 books on food, would host the series.

‘Foodie Fundas with Rashmi’ will cover gourmet delights from around the world. The highlights of the show are episodes on Fine Fizzy Magic, a two-part episode set in France tracing the histories of world famous champagnes; Great Food Parties that will cover the famous Oktoberfest and Alstadt in Germany; Food Royals which will highlight the royal cuisines of Udaipur; Goan Gourmet will showcase a journey of Goa’s favourite food from the sea to the plate; while Sweet Story will explore the tradition of superb pastry making in France.

Each episode in the new series would be different and would track food trends and cutting-edge restaurants, provide invaluable tips and guidelines from the world’s leading authorities. Viewers will be taken into out-of-bounds territories, the world’s first cooking school, parties at the world’s oldest food parties; and have well-known chefs give cooking demos.

Commenting on the show, Singh said, “I’m convinced that the world is divided into three kinds of people -- those who love food, those who hate it, and those who are indifferent to it. This show is meant for all three kinds.”
