The Delhi High Court has refused to grant any interim relief to Nimbus Communications as it has refused to stay the Sports Broadcast Signal (Mandatory Sharing with Prasar Bharati) Ordinance 2007. The court has posted the matter to 15 February for further hearing.
The Ordinance was promulgated last week soon after Nimbus refused to share live feed with Prasar Bharati and challenged the existing uplinking guidelines that made it mandatory for private sports channels to share live feed with the national broadcaster.
In its interim order, the court had asked Nimbus that runs Neo Sports to share live feed with Doordarshan after seven-and-a-half minutes. It moved the court during the just-concluded Indo-West Indies one-day matches.
