HBO, STAR Movies drum up V-Day, Oscar fever with February cine feast

February will be a veritable feast for cine lovers with HBO and STAR Movies announcing their plans to tap the Valentine’s Day and Oscar fever. Both channels have lined up several movies to suit every viewer’s taste.

While, HBO brings Blockbuster of the Month, Sunday Super Hits, Valentine’s Day Special and a brand new original series along with a delightful mix of comedy, action, drama and romance for the ultimate movie viewing experience, STAR Movies will present India in a whole new light.

STAR Movies has lined up a slew of films portraying India in a way never done before under its “Made in India” series, which will feature Indian crossover films every Wednesday at 9 pm. These include ‘Bride and Prejudice’, ‘Let’s Enjoy’, ‘Mumbai Matinee’ and ‘Flavors’. And as it has been doing in the previous years, STAR Movies will also telecast Oscar winning movies in its special programme, Oscar Fever.

HBO will be showing ‘Austin Powers: Goldmember’ as Blockbuster of the Month. The channel will also feature ‘Chronicles of Riddick’. Johnny Depp starrer ‘Secret Window’ will debut in HBO Saturday Nights. To change the flavour of Sunday nights, HBO will present an all-new franchise – ‘HBO Sunday Super Hits’. This will feature movies like ‘The Fugitive’, ‘I Spy’ and ‘Sleepy Hollow’.

The other February fare on HBO include ‘Real Women Have Curves’, ‘Together Forever’, ‘Fear’, ‘Kiss The Girls’, ‘Psycho II’, ‘Fatal Attraction’, ‘Out Of Sight’, ‘Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason’ and ‘Conspiracy Theory’.
