HBO has lined up a treat of movie premieres and blockbusters for its viewers throughout the month of August. From action to drama, love to hatred, and horror to adventure, the channel has lined up an array of titles with Blockbuster of the Month, Independence Day Bonanza, HBO See It First, HBO Friday Blockbusters and HBO Sunday Super Hits.
HBO will introduce a new block for movie lovers this August as it brings HBO See It First, a collection of movie premiering for the first time on Indian television every Saturday night at 9 pm, 52 weeks in a year. The block will show new premieres of movies such as ‘Firewall’, ‘Aeonflux’, ‘Brokeback Mountain’ and ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’.
The channel will also showcase multi-award winning movie ‘Brokeback Mountain’ on August 11 at 9 pm. Another line-up is of celebrating India’s 60th year of independence with HBO Independence Day Bonanza featuring four favourite blockbusters back-to-back on August 15, with ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’, ‘Batman Begins’, ‘The Legend of Zorro’ and ‘King Kong’.
With HBO Friday Blockbusters every Friday night at 9 pm, the channel will bring smashing hits like ‘Evolution’, ‘Saving Private Ryan’, ‘Solo’ and ‘Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid’. HBO will bring the best of Hollywood by premiering top blockbusters on television first in South Asia through exclusive licensing deals with four major Hollywood studios -- Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia/TriStar), Universal and Warner Bros.
Primetime viewing on HBO includes HBO Blockbuster Of The Month, which is a special television event that premieres a mega blockbuster movie every month; HBO See It First, which premieres a new box office hit each week throughout the year; HBO Sunday Super Hits, which showcases the blockbuster hits, star-studded hits, favourite genre hits, Asian hits, and highly acclaimed hits, among others. In addition, HBO features at least three to four new movie showcases every month to offer viewers an interesting mix of Hollywood movies, based on exciting themes.
