Great Indian Laughter Challenge set for season 2, Clinic returns as title sponsor

STAR Network might have taken time in bringing the second season of KBC, but with their other successful property – ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ (TGILC) – the channel has wasted no time. The second season is set to launch in February 2006 and Clinic All Clear has returned as title sponsor.

Ajay Vidyasagar, Executive Vice-President, Marketing, STAR India Pvt Ltd, said, “’The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ revolutionised ‘comedy’ as a genre on Indian television. This unique format caught the fancy of television viewers across the country. This, followed by ‘The Great Indian Laughter Champions’ and ‘Nach Baliye’, propelled STAR One to the No. 2 position in the Hindi general entertainment channel category within a year of its launch. We are delighted to announce TGILC 2 and re-introduce this great opportunity to talented individuals.”

The new season of TGILC 2 will feature an array of outstanding comic routines, teamed with the presence of judges – Shekhar Suman and Navjot Singh Siddhu, better known to audiences as “The Wizards of Wit”. Parizaad Kolah will be the hostess.

The first season of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’, launched in June 2005, was an instant hit among viewers. Today, Sunil Pal, Navin Prabhakar, Raju Shrivastav and other participants are seen in other properties of the Network as well. Auditions for TGILC 2 will start from January 4, 2006 and close on January 17, 2006.
