Marathi GECs, too, have lined up special programmes to celebrate the spirit of Republic Day. Zee Marathi will feature a special episode, named ‘Shoora Mee Vandile’, for its show ‘Idea Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Lil Champs’. The special episode has been designed by veteran singer and music director Hridaynath Mangeshkar, who has been conferred the Padma Shri this year. This special episode would be aired on January 26 and 27 at 7.30 pm.
Saam Marathi will air ‘Jago Hindustani’, a concert of patriotic film songs with narrations. The three-hour long programme would be aired be at 7:30 pm on January 26.
Elaborating on the special programme, Ambarnath Sinha, Channel Promotion Head, Saam Marathi, said, “Performed by the group Swarninad, this has remained a cherished performance, where the content remained unchanged for the past one decade for over 1,800 performances across India, but appreciated ad infinitum. A programme of emotion, togetherness and belief manifested through the unforgettable patriotic songs comprising mostly Hindi film songs with a few Marathi songs as well. ‘Jago Hindustani’ is performed once again, but for the first time exclusively for television. We thought this as the ultimate way to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by our soldiers, patriots and leaders. This, we thought, was the best way to remember the sacrifices of the bravehearts who saved Mumbai and India on that fateful day of November 2008. Thus, we thought to create a programme that will unite the whole of Maharashtra and India. This is the day we thought we’d begin a new journey towards more meaningful programming.”
