In a tribute to Indian cricket captain Rahul Dravid, ESPN STAR Sports will telecast a 13-episode series titled ‘The Wall’. Hosted by star commentator Harsha Bhogle, the series will feature some of the finest innings played by Dravid outside India that have established him as a cricketer par excellence. The first episode of ‘The Wall’ will be aired on Tuesday, November 1, at 7:30 pm on ESPN.

‘The Wall’ will highlight the manner in which Dravid bats, showcase innings such as his debut Test at Lord’s against England where he missed century by five runs, his extraordinary performance against Australia in 2003-04 when he single-handedly helped India chase a 200-plus target in the fourth innings amongst others. The episodes will also feature excerpts of Dravid’s interviews taken on the day of the showcased innings.

“Cricket fans in India love to re-visit some of the glorious moments that this great game and its stars have provided over the years. Programmes like ‘Indian Legends’ and ‘India Glorious’ have received positive feedback from viewers. ‘The Wall’ is a part of a larger initiative to showcase the best of Indian cricket on our network. We will soon launch more such programmes,” said Sricharan Iyengar, Vice-president, Sales & Marketing, ESPN Software India Pvt Ltd.

Speaking on the special series, Iyengar added, “The Wall, which features 13 of the best knocks by Dravid outside India, actually chronicles the evolution of Dravid from a talented young cricketer to the mainstay of Indian batting.”

Cricket fans are in for a treat as the precision, technique, style and legendary concentration that Dravid possesses will be on display for all 30 minutes of each of the 13 episodes.
