Dr Uday Nirgudkar and Aamir Khan receive Master Dinanath Mangeshkar awards

Dr Uday Nirgudkar, Editor, Zee 24 Taas received the Master Dinanath Mangeshkar award for his exceptional editorial contribution from RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat. Dr Nirgudkar heads Zee Network’s 24 hour Marathi news channel, Zee 24 Taas. He has two decades of experience in the business of news. Dr Nirgudkar has an MBA degree and a doctorate in marketing from the Pune University.

Actor Aamir Khan also received an award for his portrayal of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in the movie Dangal. It is interesting to note that Khan, who had not attended any award show since 16 years, was personally present to receive the award from Bhagwat.

Accepting the award, Khan said, “Today wherever I am, the credit goes to all the writers who have written my films. I am here because of the directors and writers for the wonderful work they've done. I thank all of them."

Cricketer Kapil Dev, veteran actress Vyjayanthimala Bali, Kishore Deshpande, Vishwanath Karad, Vijaya Rajadhyaksha and Kaushiki Chakraborty too won awards in the same evening.

Legendary singer and daughter of Dinanath Mangeshkar, Lata Mangeshkar was also present at the ceremony.
