Doordarshan to telecast DD Annual Awards 2007 on February 10, 2008

Doordarshan, which had organised its 7th Annual Awards presentation ceremony in Mumbai on February 4, will telecast the ceremony on the National channel (DD-1) on February 10, 2008 from 9.30 pm onwards. Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi had presented the awards to the winners.

B S Lalli, CEO, Prasar Bharati, and Leela Dhar Mandloi, Director General, Doordarshan, were also present at the Awards presentation ceremony, which was interspersed with a variety entertainment programme.

Well-known artistes regaled the audience with a cultural programme that included rendition of Ganesh Vandana by actress Gracy Singh, ghazals by maestro Jagjit Singh, devotional songs by Shekhar Sen, and a jugalbandi of Carnatic and Hindustani music, among others. Playback singers Mahalaxmi Iyer and Kailash Kher also rendered some popular Bollywood numbers.

Other well-known faces present at the Awards ceremony included Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Ramnarayan, Sonali Kulkarni, Aruna Irani, Sudhir Dalvi, Anoop Jalota, and Udit Narayan, among others.
