Discovery Kids Quiz finale concludes in Delhi

After reaching to 3500 schools and 15 lakh children across 18 cities over two months, 'Discovery Kids Quiz' finale took place yesterday in the Capital at the FICCI auditorium.

The quiz was divided into two levels - Junior Level for classes V and VI and Senior Level for classes VII and VIII. 6 junior and 6 senior teams got on stage to compete for the winners trophy. DPS RK Puram emerged as the senior National winner followed by Chettinad Vidyashram, Chennai as runner up. The junior national winner for the quiz was Calcutta Boys School followed by DPS, Bhopal as the runner up. A total of 36 teams came to Delhi to participate in the finals. There was also an online winner from Modern School, New Delhi.

Commenting on the response to the Discovery Kids Quiz, Deepak Shourie, MD, Discovery Channel said, "It is great to see the zest and intelligence of kids participating in the Discovery Kids Quiz. We are enthused by the response and extraordinary depth of talent in each city; and happy that our way of saying thank you to avid watchers of Discovery Kids is a success."

The finale round comprised of the rounds like Left or Right: a test of analytical skills, Blink by Blink: a buzzer round - identifying famous personalities and ThinkKQ Smart: the quick fire question round

The questions were thrown to the kids from quizmaster Derek O'Brien. The 18 cities where the quiz competition was held included Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Pune, Bangalore and Calcutta. Britannia Treat, Hercules & BSA cycles and Reynolds Pens sponsored the quiz.
