Delhi HC adjourns ad cap case to March 29, 2016

The Delhi High Court witnessed the second hearing of 10+2 ad cap case. In the last hearing, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had intervened and said that MIB is in talks with the News Broadcasters Association and different stakeholders on 10+2 ad cap per hour.

The ad cap matter was up for discussion as case number seven but due to delay in hearing the bench adjourned the matter for 29th March 2016.

While Home cable requested the judges for an early hearing, the judges asked them to file a written application with all their contentions before considering the request.

On the other hand, Discovery Communications also wanted to intervene in the case but HC told them they will consider their intervention in the next hearing.

In November 2015, the High Court had adjourned the ad cap date till February 11th, 2016 which will now come up for hearing on 29th March.

As it is known, some of the parties associated with the case include the News Broadcasters Association (NBA), B4U, 9X Media, TV Vision, Sun TV Network, E24, and Kalaignar TV against the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
