DD News unveils ticker service for commodity prices

DD News became the first news channel in the country to launch a ticker service of spot and futures prices of 24 commodities, including various agricultural items, to help the farming community.

Secretary, information and broadcasting ministry, Navin Chawla, who launched the ticker service on the channel, said it was a major step forward, which would greatly benefit the farmers.

Prasar Bharati CEO KS Sarma said that the service would usher in a revolution in the countryside as, at present some channels only display bullion and metal prices.

The service was launched as part of an agreement between Prasar Bharati and the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange of India (NCDEX), whose chief Ravi Kumar said that no financial aspect was involved in the deal.
