CNN-IBN launches month-long fare to celebrate Golden Jubilee of South India

The four Southern states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala are celebrating their Golden Jubilees. To mark the occasion, CNN-IBN has launched a month long series, ‘Golden South’, from October 30. The series will showcase the formation of the four states, their cultural diversities, food habits, entertainment, and religion, among others.

The series will feature 30-minute specials on weekends, which would have a plethora of programmes. The programming would also announce the Golden Keralite, the Golden Andhraite, the Golden Tamilian and the Golden Kannadiga (based on viewer’s voting) in each of the four half-hour specials on November 4, November 11, November 18 and November 25, respectively.

The series will also have a special feature – ‘The Big South Debate’ – a one-hour special show on Sunday, November 26. The findings of a nationwide poll on South India would be revealed at this show.

“Through this four-week long programming we would give the viewers an in-depth knowledge about the formation and development of the four states and its people, who have made India proud. I am confident that our viewers will find this series interesting and engaging,” said Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, CNN-IBN and IBN 7.

Sanjay Dua, National Sales Head, CNN-IBN and IBN 7, said, “Thematic content and differentiated offerings like this generates higher interest among the advertising community as well.”
