CNEB channel to launch by May; Girish Juneja roped in as Creative & Programming Head

CNEB, a Noida-based news and entertainment channel, is set for launch in May 2008. Besides news, the channel aims to have some of the finest crime programmes, entertainment shows, travelogues and public interest shows. The tagline of the channel is ‘Lehar toh paida hogi (Ripples would definitely be created)’.

CNEB is part of the stellar HBN Group, a well-diversified group having interests in dairy and allied products, insurance sector, consumer / asset financing, housing finance and real estate construction and development.

Amandeep Singh Sran, a 25-year old entrepreneur, is the Chairman of CNEB, who is said to be actively involved in every operation of the channel, from marketing strategies to devising HR policies.

Commenting on the launch, Singh said, “It’s a pleasure leading young and dynamic people who believe in taking responsibility to change the way viewers look at news and entertainment. The vision of the channel is clear from the tagline itself – Lehar toh paida hogi.”

Girish Juneja, who has over 18 years’ experience in the television industry, is the Creative and Programming Head of the channel. Juneja began his career as a video editor and soon donned the hat of director and producer for various news channels. He started his career with stalwarts like Vinod Dua and has been a senior member of the core programming team of channels like Zee News, IBN7 and India TV. His efforts have been amply respected in the form of several Telly awards nominations. He has directed the only telefilm on the Parliament attack and won many awards and accolades for his effort. He is one of the very few journalists who have won the prestigious Best Investigative Journalism award at Houston, USA.

“More and more news channels have shifted focus from hardcore news to a lot more entertaining content. We have tailored our channel taking this into account so as to give a 360-degree view of news,” Juneja said.

As far as the content is concerned, it would touch various genre covering public interest, social awareness, crime, fashion and lifestyle, glamour, Bollywood, old and new songs, Punjabi news and features, home improvement and real estate, women and kids based shows, art of better living. More shows would be introduced subsequently.
