CNBC Awaaz launches talent hunt

CNBC Awaaz, in association with P&G, has launched ‘Khud Par Karo Yakeen’, a talent search for the most promising news talent in country. Aspirants will be trained to become news professionals with the channel. ‘Khud Par Karo Yakeen’ will be a platform for those who aspire to become news professionals -- anchors, producers, writers or correspondents.

“The association with P&G on ‘Khud Par Karo Yakeen’ has provided us an opportunity to connect with our young consumers. The series will capture the various stages of metamorphosis of the participants from an amateur contender to a well prepared competitor. The initiative is a platform for young women from across the nation – small towns as well as metros - to an opportunity to make a career with the television news industry. Every participant stands a chance to be groomed by the best in the industry at TV18,” said an official from the channel.

The channel has lined up a host of promotional activities across media and hopes to reach as many youngsters as possible through the show. Experts have been roped in to train the contestants. They will be groomed within fields like voice training, script writing and basics in editing as well as handling of camera.

TV-18 has also joined hands with the Department of Social Communications Media at Sophia Polytechnic, an institute for mass communication studies, to host the Award for Excellence in Documentary Filmmaking. The pre-award ceremony will be held on February 21 at the Sophia Polytechnic Campus from 4 pm to 6 pm, in the presence of students, parents and other special invitees from the business and media.

The Chief Guest for the ceremony will be TV18 Group’s Managing Editor, Senthil Chengalvarayan. “The philosophy behind the initiative is to encourage Young Female talent in the world of communications and broadcast journalism,” said an official from the channel.
