Channel V set for 3rd edition of Nokia IndiaFest

Channel V is all geared to woo the youth of the country with Nokia IndiaFest 2013. In its third year, the youth festival is being held at Baga Grounds, Goa on January 18 and 19.

The two-day IndiaFest is an on-ground extension of the Channel V brand and offers a platform for the youth to showcase their talent.

Commenting on the initiative and the response received, Prem Kamath, EVP & GM, Channel V said, “We have taken IndiaFest to seven cities this year – Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata and Goa. IndiaFest is in its third year now and the response has been overwhelming every year. This year, we have touched 3 million students across 2,000 colleges through our campus activation programme. The number of registrations has almost doubled – we have over 1.6 lakh registrations in 25 events of various categories, including dance, music, film making, soccer, acting, RJ Hunt and so on.”

On associating with the festival, Viral Oza, Director - Marketing, Nokia said, “It is really exciting for us to associate with IndiaFest for the third consecutive year. We continue in our endeavour to bring the youth closer to their passions. At a time when the youth are constantly looking towards expanding horizons, we bring to them Nokia IndiaFest, a perfect platform for the youth to showcase their talent in front of their peers.”

The promotional activities include a robust 360 degree marketing plan involving digital, print, radio, outdoor and on-ground activations.

The entire on-ground activation for the festival is being managed and executed by 70 EMG. Commenting on the partnership, Martin Da Costa, CEO, 70 EMG said, “It’s a unique, award winning event exclusively for college kids from across India – their ‘Spring Break’ if you like – and we love producing it. We’ve been working with Channel V for the last three years on the festival and it just keeps getting bigger and better. I’m particularly glad that our relationship with Star TV has developed so well, we are, in fact, partnering with Fox TV to own and build India Bike Week as another independent festival property.”

The finals, which take place on Friday and Saturday, will be judged by a jury comprising Neha Dhupia, Dino Morea, Masaba Gupta, Raghu Dixit, DJ Suketu, and Bijoy Nambiar, among others.

Nokia IndiaFest 2013 is supported by STAR India. Nokia is the title sponsor, while PVR is the multiplex partner.
