Celebrity dance fever continues for third season on Vijay TV

Encouraged by the resounding success of the first two seasons of celebrity dance show ‘Jodi No. 1’, Vijay TV is set to launch a third season of the show on January 4, 2008. With a prize money of Rs 5 lakh along with a ‘Best Performer’ title award for the winner, ‘Garnier Fructis Vijay Jodi No. 1’ would be a 13-episode series to be aired on Fridays and Saturdays in the 8pm time slot.

The dance show on Vijay TV is an adaptation of Star One’s ‘Nach Baliye’, which proved to be a clutter breaker when it was first launched. The success of format shows on Vijay TV has resulted in others in the space following suit. Currently, at least two channels in Tamil Nadu have cloned the ‘Jodi No. 1’ format.

Unlike the first two seasons of ‘Jodi No. 1’, which featured four couples each from real and reel life from television, ‘Garnier Fructis Vijay Jodi No. 1’ will feature artistes and anchors performing on any of the shows on Vijay TV. Artistes from the hit series ‘Kana Kaanum Kalangal’ as well as other shows like ‘Madurai’, ‘Kadhalika Neramillai’, ‘EQ’ and ‘Lollu Sabha’ are coming together for this season of the reality dance show.
