With effect from May 1, Buena Vista Television India (BVTI) will cease to handle ad sales for Sahara television channel. Sahara on the other hand is in the process of putting together its own ad sales team, which will market the channel.
The ad sales deal between BVTI and Sahara was signed in May last year and was intended to last for three years. This deal with Sahara was on the basis of a commission on gross advertising revenue.
According to industry sources, Sahara has attracted close to 50 new brands and a wide array of advertisers since BTVI took over ad sales last year.
