Budget coverage fetches highest marketshare to Aaj Tak, says TAM study

Hindi telly news major Aaj Tak claimed a marketshare of 31 percent, says the latest TAM C&S 4+ home data for the week ending on July 10. The study was conducted amongst various news channels, based on the budget coverage.

Referring to the channel's performance, Aaj Tak spokesperson Rajesh Sheshadri says, "Whenever there is an event of great importance, viewers are provided with an in-depth programming - right from the policy-maker's strategy to the common man's perspective," he said.

As per the TAM data, the interview with Railway Minister on the day of the Railway budget pushed Aaj Tak's marketshare to 54 percent. An interview with the Finance Minister drove the share to 44 percent amongst all the news channels.

The common man's perspective through 'Sharmaji Ka Khandan' depicting the aspirations and apprehensions of the Indian middle-class family increased the market share to 38 percent.
