Budget 2010: CNBC-TV18 & CNBC Awaaz viewed the most on Budget day

TAM Media Research ratings for Union Budget 2010 coverage are out. On Budget day, CNBC TV18 has emerged the top viewed channel in the English news genre. CNBC Awaaz, the Hindi channel from the group, tops in its genre as well.

CNBC-TV18 leads across business news channels across TG’s, all India on Budget day. In the all India, core English news TG of C&S Male 25+AB, CNBC-TV18 has a share of 0.33 per cent. ET Now is at 0.12; Bloomberg UTV is at 0.11 and NDTV Profit has 0.10 per cent channel share.

CNBC Awaaz leads across all TG’s in HSM on Budget day. In the C&S Male 25+AB TG, CNBC Awaaz has a share of 0.81 and ZEE Business is at 0.22 per cent.

However, it was interesting to note that Bloomberg UTV triggered off a campaign on the basis of its performance on aMap numbers. Even though aMap is not an industry currency yet, the aMap numbers have a very different picture. Bloomberg UTV is the No.1 channel on budget day with a share of 40 per cent ( C&S, 25+, SEC A&B, All India). CNBC TV18 follows with a share of 26.7 per cent and NDTV Profit has a genre share of 20 per cent. ET Now has a share of 13.3 per cent.
