Big Magic woos regional viewers with Bhojpuri band

Big Magic is launching a weekend Bhojpuri movie band, called ‘Superhit Bhojpuri’, which will air popular Bhojpuri movies on Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30 pm, beginning August 18, 2012.

Big Magic is expecting ‘Superhit Bhojpuri’ to be an ideal opportunity for brands targeting the Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh belts to leverage and connect with their consumers.

Speaking to exchange4media, Anand Chakravarthy, Business Head, Big Magic, said, “The marketing strategy will focus on local print pockets of Bihar and Eastern UP. We will target our own radio and television assets – Big FM and Big Magic. We will also focus on radio, digital, newspapers and social media for engagement with the audience.”

He further said, “We are expecting this initiative to increase our viewership. We are also looking forward to have other regional movies in future, but as of now, we are focusing on Bhojpuri movies. Since we are acquiring the Bhojpuri movies on a large scale and for the long term, we are getting good rates.”

It may be recalled that earlier this year Big Magic had launched a Bhojpuri music band, titled ‘Hamar Des Hamaar Sangeet’. The movies band will take this endeavour forward.

The channel will air the latest Bhojpuri hit films as well as those that have been blockbusters in the last 3-4 years, such as ‘Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke’, ‘Kanoon Hamra Muthi Mein’, ‘Parivar’ and ‘Ranbhoomi’, among others.
