Bhaskar Das resigns as Group CEO Zee Media, to take up new role as President & Chief Growth Officer, Zee Unimedia Ltd.

In a BSE filing today, Zee Media Corp.  announced that Bhaskar Das,  Group CEO of News Cluster,  has stepped down from his position w.e.f April 20, 2016.

As reported by exchange4media earlier this month, Das will be taking up new responsibilities as President and Chief Growth and Innovation Officer, Zee Unimedia Limited, a new division of Zee Entertainment  Enterprises Limited. For his new role Bhaskar Das will report to Ashish Sehgal,  COO of Zee Unimedia.;-bhaskar-das-president--chief-growth-officer_63898.html#sthash.TzJaHEWI.dpuf

Zee Media Corporation, in the BSE filing stated, “Zee Media Corporation Ltd has informed BSE that since Mr. Bhaskar Das, Group CEO - News Cluster of the Company has been transferred to another entity forming part of Essel Group, he has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of the Company with effect from April 20, 2016.”

Das, who was president of media group Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (BCCL), had joined Subhash Chandra-led Essel Group as chief executive officer (CEO) in 2012. 

He was given the responsibility of driving the group's news business, including the digital properties.
