In week 52 ( (December 26, 2015- January 1, 2016) of BARC Ratings, Colors continued to be the most viewed channel and garnered 744 million ratings. The channel gained on Tuesday, Wednesday andThursday across day-parts.
Zee Anmol saw an increase in viewership on Sunday mainly due to early morning movie and prime shows. They stood second with 742 million ratings. The average ratings of the channel in week41-51 was 718 million.
Star Plus aired Big Star Awards on Thursday (New year’s eve special) which led to an increase in the viewership for the channel. The channel, at No.3, fetched 712 million ratings.
Rishtey witnessed growth mainly over the Weekend and Friday. TheSaturday and Sunday gain was due to movies and a special 1 hour show on Sunday. The ratings for the channel rose to 379 million and hence the channel climbed to the seventh spot in week 52.
The fourteenth Indian Telly Awards took &TV’s Sunday, 7:21pm-10:10pm slot up by almost 5 times. The channel acquired the eleventh spot with 194 million ratings.
Aaj Tak’s ‘Happy New Year’ event took the 7pm-12pm slot up by 40 per cent and hence the channel ratings rose to 524 millions in week 52 which was 420 millions in week 51.
The regional channels also managed to draw viewers’ attention which resulted in the rise in the ratings many fold.
Malyalam channel Mazhavil Manorama also witnessed a 13 times hike in ratings in the 10:30pm-1:30am slot with the airing of New Year Event ‘Jayaragangal’. The channel garnered 4,761 million ratings in just week 52 whereas the average viewership ratings of the channel in week41-51 was 367 millions.
In the Maharashtra/Goa market, IMFFA 2015 which aired on Colors Marathi in the 7pm-10pm slot took the slot up by 1.5 times. The average viewership rating of the channel was 649 millions in week41-51 which rose to 1104 millions in week 52.
Another regional Marathi channel Star Pravah also saw a rise in the ratings as the new year special show “Ye Re Ye Re 2016” has took the 9pm-12pm slot up by more than 2.5 times. The channel fetched 822 million ratings in week 52. The channel had an average of 291 million ratings in week41-51.
‘Jallosh 2016’ took the 9:30pm-12pm slot of Zee Marathi up by 2.5 times. The channel garnered 1,794 million ratings in week 52.
