BARC Week 36: Star Bharat takes second spot in Hindi GEC overall, also in the top 5 in both urban and rural market
Zee Anmol continued to lead collectively in the Hindi GEC category with 819 million impressions, according to BARC data for week 36 (September 2-8). It was followed by Star Bharat with 669 million impressions and Zee TV with 625 million impressions. Star Bharat was in the top 5 channels in both urban and rural market.
 
Star Plus displaced Colors to lead the urban market with 394 million impressions while Zee Anmol continued to rule the rural market with 647 million impressions.
 
Micromax Cup India Vs Sri Lanka T20 match on DD National ruled over the Top 5 Program overall with 12.6 million impressions. 
 
Zee TV’s popular properties, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Kundali Bhagya’ made it to the Top 5 programs overall with 10.9 million and 10.1 million impressions, respectively.
 
Urban Market
Star Plus came back to rule the urban market after a brief hiatus with 394 million impressions, compared to 401 million impressions it had in Week 35.
 
Colors slipped to second spot 384 million impressions, compared to 412 million impressions it had in Week 35. ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi’ slipped to second spot in the Top 5 Programs (Urban) list fetching 6.7 million impressions. 
 
Zee TV also climbed up to third spot with 370 million impressions as against the 350 million impressions it garnered the previous week. Its ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ maintained third spot in the top 5 programs list in this market garnering 6.3 million impressions while ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ took the fifth spot with 6 million impressions.
 
 Sony Entertainment Television slipped to fourth position with 364 million impressions as against previous week’s 353 million impressions. But its iconic property 'Kaun Banega Crorepati’ reigned over the Top 5 programs list with 6.7 million impressions.
 
Star Bharat took the fifth spot with 291 million impressions. 
 
Even though Sony SAB slipped to sixth spot, 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’ held on to its fourth spot in the Top 5 programs with improved 6.1 million impressions.
 
Rural Market
 
Zee Anmol continued to lead rural market with 647 million impressions with its popular shows ‘Jamai Raja’ and ‘Kaala Teeka’ slipping to second and third position in the Top 5 Programs with 8.2 million and 6.4 million impressions, respectively.
 
Micromax Cup India Vs Sri Lanka T20 match on DD National took the top spot in the Top 5 Program (rural) with 8.7 million impressions while the ODI took the fifth spot with 5.7 million impressions.
 
The new channel Star Bharat rose to second spot with 378 million impressions.
 
Sony Pal slipped to third spot with 347 million impressions. Its show ‘Baalveer’ maintained its fourth spot with 5.7 million impressions.
 
 Rishtey further slipped to fourth spot with 324 million impressions. Moreover, none of its shows made it to the Top 5 programs. 
 
Zee TV maintained its fifth spot with 255 million impressions.
