BARC Ratings: Zee TV's show 'Kumkum Bhagya' continues to lead in urban markets

BARC Ratings: Zee TV's show 'Kumkum Bhagya' continues to lead in urban markets

According to the latest BARC data for week 32 (August 6-12, 2016), Zee TV's popular show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued to lead in the urban and urban plus rural market segments. It has been the chart topper for the past few weeks. Zee TV’s other new show ‘Brahmarakshas - Jaag Utha Shaitan’ has claimed the second spot in the opening week itself in the urban and urban plus rural market segments. While the  Colors show ‘Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’ has slipped to the third spot in urban plus rural markets, fetching in 8.9 million impressions, compared to 8.6 million impressions in week 31. Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ again makes it to the top five programmes in the urban market, with 6 million impressions.

As mentioned above ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ remained the most watched show in the urban and urban plus rural market with 12 million and 7 million impressions respectively.  In the rural market it stood at number five, fetching in 4.9 million impressions

‘Brahmarakshas - Jaag Utha Shaitan’ on Zee TV took over the second spot in both categories with 10 million and 6 million impressions respectively. It claimed the seventh spot in rural market with 3.8 million impressions.

Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ was the third and seventh most watched show in the urban and urban plus rural market bringing in 6 million and 8 million impressions respectively.

Sony SAB’s longest running popular show 'Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah' made it to the top five shows in the urban segment (in fourth spot) with 6 million impressions. It climbed up to sixth spot (from week 31’s 10th) in the urban plus rural segment with 8.5 million impressions.

Star Plus’s ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ also made some progress as it moved up to the fourth spot with 8.7 million impressions from the ninth position in week 31 where it had 7.7 million impressions in the urban plus rural market. In the urban markets it was the fifth most watched show with 6 million impressions, compared to previous week’s 5 million impressions.

Star Plus’ ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ slipped to fifth spot with 8.7 million impressions in the urban plus rural segment from week 31’s fourth spot where it had 8.2 million impressions. Its position took a further hit in the urban market, claiming the seventh spot with 5.9 million impressions, compared to previous week’s third spot with 5.6 million impressions.

Star Utsav’s ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ stood at the first and eight spot in the rural and rural plus urban market segment with 6 million and 8 million impressions respectively. On the other hand, the same show on Star Plus slipped to 10th spot in both urban plus rural and urban markets with 7.8 million and 5 million impressions, compared to its seventh and eighth spot in the above mentioned markets fetching in 7.8 and 5 million impressions respectively.

Color’s ‘Udaan’ slipped to ninth and eight spot in urban plus rural market and urban market fetching in eight and five million impressions respectively. In week 31 it stood at No. 5 in the urban market with 5.550 million impressions and sixth spot in urban plus rural market with 7.9 million impressions.

In the rural market Zee Anmol’s ‘Jodha Akbar’ slipped to second spot with 5.5 million impressions. Star Utsav’s ‘Piya Rangrezz’ moved up to the third spot garnering 5.3 million impressions, compared to 3.8 million impressions in week 31. On the other hand, Zee Anmol’s ‘Bandini’ slipped to fourth position with 5 million impressions. In the previous week it stood at number 3 with 6 million impressions. Its other show ‘Kasam Hai Tujhe Aa Bhi Jaa’ followed a similar fate as it slipped to sixth spot garnering 4.7 million impressions, compared to 4.5 million impressions in week 31. Star Utsav’s other shows ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ and ‘Gustakh Dil’ stood at eighth and ninth spot with the same ratings of 3.6 million impressions. Zee TV’s ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’ slipped to 10th spot with 3.3 million impressions, compared to 3.8 million impressions in week 31.
