In week 3 (16-22 January, 2016) of the BARC Ratings, regional channels like Star Vijay and Mazhavil Manorama experienced growth in the ratings in various slots. National Geographic Channel also saw a hike in the 9:30-10pm slot. Colors continued to be the most watched Hindi GEC followed by Star Plus and Zee TV at No.2 and No.3 respectively.
The premier of ‘Chandi Veeran’ in Star Vijay in the 16:00 – 18:30 slot on Saturday took the slot up by 2.6 times. The slot garnered 11,020 ratings in week 3. The average ratings for the last 13 weeks were 4,248.
‘The Big Picture with Kal Penn’ took National Geographic Channel’s 21:30 – 22:00 slot on Thursday up by 78 per cent. The slot had 167 ratings in week 2 which rose to 298 in week 3.
‘Bhaiyya My Brother’ took the 13:00 – 16:00 slot on Sunday up by 37 per cent. The average ratings of 13 weeks for the slot were 3,214 which rose to 4,389 in week 3.
Colors retained it’s the top spot in week 3 which garnered 701 million ratings followed by Star Plus at No.2 and Zee TV at No.3 which pushed Zee Anmol to No.4. Colors had an average of 715 million of the last 13 weeks. Colors has launched ‘Chhoti Anandi’ at 11 am on Sunday followed by ‘Mission Sapne Season 2’.
Star Plus stood at No.2 with 681 million ratings. The channel had average ratings of 748 million of the earlier 13 weeks. ‘Siya Ke Ram’ witnessed an increase in viewership due to the ‘Swayamwar Saptah’ special.
Zee TV replaced Zee Anmol to acquire No.3 spot with 647 million ratings. The 13 weeks average of the channel was 659 million.
Zee Anmol garnered 638 million in week 3 at slipped down to No.4. The average ratings of the past 13 weeks were 726 million.
At No.5 remained Star Utsav with 437 million ratings followed by Life OK stayed at No.6.
Sony Pal which was at No.8 in the second week rose to No. 7 394 million in week 3.
At No.8 stood Rishtey with 393 million ratings. ‘Chhoti Anandi’ was simulcast on the channel which delivered good results for the channel. The channel launched ‘Kahaniyan Vikram Aur Betal Ki’ on Sundays in the afternoon slot
At No.9 stood Sony SAB with 361 million ratings. The launch of new show ‘Woh Teri Bhabhi Hai Pagle’ yielded better results for the channel.
DD National made an entry to the top 10 list in week 3 with 329 million ratings
