BARC Ratings: Star Plus, Star Utsav continue to lead urban, rural markets respectively

In week 23 (4-10 June, 2016), No change in the positions of the channels was observed in the urban markets. Star Plus continued to lead followed by Colors At No.2 and Zee TV at No.3. In the rural markets, Star Utsav remained to be the most watched channel followed by Sony Pal at No.2 and Zee Anmol at No.3. Big Magic replaced Life OK to acquire the eighth spot. Life OK slipped to the ninth spot.

Detailed report below:

Hindi GEC Urban:

Star Plus remained at the top spot consecutively for the third week with increased ratings of 477 million. The channel had 465 million ratings in week 22.

Colors stayed at No.2 in week 23 with 463 million ratings, also higher than previous week’s 456 million.

Zee TV, at No.3, garnered 305 million ratings which were 294 million in the previous week.

Life OK remained at No.4 with 282 million ratings. The channel had 291 million ratings in week 22.

Sony SAB acquired the fifth spot with 274 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 256 million ratings.

Sony Entertainment Television stood at No.6 with 242 million ratings. The channel had 240 million ratings in week 22.

Sony Pal fetched 121 million ratings and remained at No.7 in week 23. The channel had 128 million ratings in the previous week.

&TV stayed at No.8 with 120 million ratings. The channel had 119 million ratings in the week before.

The ninth spot was acquired by Star Utsav in week 23. The channel which had garnered 114 million ratings in week 22 got 101 million ratings in week 23.

The tenth spot in the urban market was acquired by Zee Anmol which garnered 92 million ratings which were 99 million in week 22.

Hindi GEC Rural:

Star Utsav remained to be the most watched channel in the rural market with 410 million ratings which were 411 million in week 22.

Sony Pal continued to be at No.2 in week 23 with 398 million ratings. The channel had 396 million ratings in week 22.

Zee Anmol stood at No.3 with 351 million ratings which were 331 million in the previous week.

Rishtey stood at No.4 with 277 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 269 million ratings.

Star Plus stayed at No.5 with 225 million ratings which were 245 million in week 22.

Colors stepped up to the sixth spot in week 23 with 220 million ratings. Last week, the channel was at No.7 with 229 million ratings.

Zee TV slipped to seventh spot in week 23 with 210 million ratings. The channel was at No.6 in week 22 with 230 million ratings.

The eighth spot was acquired by Big Magic in week 23 with 159 million ratings. The channel was at No.9 in week 22 with 157 million ratings.

Life OK slipped to the ninth spot with 140 million ratings which were 168 million in the previous week.

Sony SAB remained at No.10 with 117 million ratings which were 115 million in week 22.
