BARC Ratings: Star Plus regains No.1 spot in urban markets; Star Utsav continues to lead rural markets

According to BARC Ratings of week 25 (18-24 June, 2016), After being at No.1 for a week,  Colors was replaced by Star Plus to be the top Hindi GEC in the urban market whereas, Colors slipped to the second spot. Sony Entertainment Television replaced Sony SAB to acquire the fifth spot. &TV took climbed up to the seventh spot with 116 million ratings. Star Utsav slipped to the tenth spot from seventh in week 25. In the rural markets, Star Utsav continued to be the most watched Hindi GEC. Sony Pal replaced Zee Anmol to acquire the second spot. Also, Star Plus replaced Colors to acquire the sixth spot.

Detailed Report below:

Hindi GEC Urban:

Star Plus acquired the top spot in week 25 after being in the second spot in week 24. The channel fetched 448 million ratings which were 438 million ratings in the previous week.

Colors slipped to the second spot after being at No.1 in the previous week with 430 million ratings. The channel had 447 million ratings in the previous week.

Zee TV remained at No.3 with 321 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 295 million.

Life OK with 267 million ratings stayed at No.4 in week 25. However, the channel had 269 million ratings in the previous week.

Sony Entertainment Television replaced Sony SAB to acquire the fifth spot with 251 million ratings. But the channel lost in terms of ratings from 254 million in week 24 to 251 million in week 25.

Sony SAB slipped to No.6 with decreased ratings of 241 million which were 259 million in the previous week.

&TV took climbed up to the seventh spot with 116 million ratings. The channel was at No.8 in the previous week with 114 million ratings.

Sony Pal also stepped up to the eighth spot in week 25 with 109 million ratings. The channel was at No.9 in week 24 with 108 million ratings.

Zee Anmol acquired the ninth spot in week 25 with 105 million ratings which were 102 million in the previous week. Also, the channel was at no.10 in week 24.

Star Utsav slipped to the tenth spot from seventh in week 25 as it lost ratings from 116 million to 103 million in week 25.

 

Hindi GEC Rural:

Star Utsav continued to be the most watched Hindi GEC of the rural markets in week 25. But the channel suffered a dip in the ratings from 403 million in week 24 to 353 million in week 25.

Sony Pal replaced Zee Anmol to acquire the second spot with 341 million ratings. The channel was at No.3 in the previous week with 336 million ratings.

Zee Anmol slipped to the third spot from second in week 25. The channel got 339 million ratings which were 355 million in the previous week.

Zee TV stepped up to the fourth spot with 268 million ratings in week 25. The channel was at No.5 in week 24 with 233 million ratings.

Rishtey slipped to the fifth spot from No.4 in week 25 with 252 million ratings. The channel had 262 million ratings in the previous week.

Star Plus replaced Colors to acquire the sixth spot in the rural market. The channel which had 202 million ratings in week 24 garnered 221 million ratings in week 25.

Colors slipped to the seventh spot with 199 million ratings which were 217 million ratings in the previous week. The channel was at No.6 in the previous week.

Life OK remained at No.8 in week 25 with 143 million ratings which were 148.6 million in week 24.

Big Magic stayed at No.9 with 121 million ratings, less than previous week’s 148.2 million.

Sony Entertainment Television stood at No.10 with 106 million ratings which were 111 million in week 24.
