BARC Ratings: Star Plus firm at top spot in urban markets, Zee Anmol perched at No 1 in rural

According to BARC Ratings for week 27 (2-8 July, 2016), Star Plus continued to lead the urban market. Colors stood at No.2 and Zee TV stayed at No.3. Sony Entertainment Television replaced Life OK to acquire the fifth spot. In the rural markets, Zee Anmol remained firm at the top spot, Star Utsav stood at No.2 and Sony Pal stood at No.3

Hindi GEC Urban:

Star Plus continued to lead the urban market but with decreased viewership ratings of 459 million in week 27 than previous week’s 466 million.

Colors stood at No.2 with 435 million ratings, more than previous week’s 435 million.

Zee TV stayed at No.3 with 328 million ratings. The channel had 323 million ratings in week 26.

Sony SAB remained at no.4 with 257 million ratings which were 265 million in the previous week.

Sony Entertainment Television replaced Life OK to acquire the fifth spot in week 27 with 256 million ratings. The channel had 253 million ratings in week 26.

Life OK slipped to the sixth spot in week 27 as it garnered 253 million ratings, less than previous week’s 255 million ratings.

&TV which was at no.9 in the previous week with 114 million ratings, climbed two steps up to the seventh spot with 121 million ratings.

Sony Pal remained at no.8 with 107 million ratings which were 115 million in the previous week.

The ninth spot was acquired by Zee Anmol with 104.5 million ratings. The channel has slipped from last week’s seventh spot where it had 119 million ratings.

Star Utsav stayed at no.10 with 104.1 million ratings in week 27 which were almost the same in week 26.

Hindi GEC Rural:

Zee Anmol continued to lead the rural markets with 369 million ratings which were 401 million ratings in the previous week.

Star Utsav stood at no.2 with 354 million ratings which were 364 million in the week before.

Sony Pal at no.3, fetched 300 million ratings. The channel had 342 million ratings in the previous week.

Zee TV remained at no.4 with 255 million ratings which were 264 million ratings in the previous week.

Star Plus stood at no.5 with 218 million ratings in week 27. The channel had 231 million ratings in the previous week and was at No.6.

Rishtey, at No.6, garnered 204 million ratings which were 242 million ratings.

At No.7 stood Colors with 190 million ratings. The channel had 189 million ratings in the previous week.

Life OK stood at No.8 with 133 million ratings which were 132 million in the previous week.

Big Magic stayed at No.9 with 119 million ratings which were 117 million in the previous week.

Sony Entertainment Television stood at the 10th position with 104 million ratings.
