BARC Ratings: Star Plus firm at no.1 in urban markets, Star Utsav leads rural markets in week 30

According to BARC Ratings for week 30 (23-29 July, 2016), Star Plus continued to lead the chart in the urban markets followed by Colors at no.2 and Zee TV at no.3. Sony Entertainment Television stepped up to the fifth spot replacing Sony SAB. As far as the rural markets are concerned, Star Utsav stayed firm at the no.1 spot for the second consecutive week. Zee Anmol remained at no.2 followed by Sony Pal at no.3. And, Rishtey replaced Star Plus to acquire the fifth spot.

Hindi GEC Urban:

Star Plus continued to lead the urban markets in week 30 although, the channel witnessed a dip in the viewership ratings. The channel fetched 468 million ratings in week 30 which were 478 million in the previous week.

Colors also saw a fall in the viewership ratings from 414 million in week 29 to 372 million in week 30 but remained at no.2.

Zee TV garnered 337 million ratings in week 30 which were 356 million in the previous week and stayed at no.3.

Life OK stood at no.4 with 280 million ratings, less than the previous week’s 287 million.

Sony Entertainment Television stepped up to the fifth spot with 276 million ratings in week 30. The channel had 258 million ratings and was at no.6 in week 29.

Sony SAB slipped to the sixth spot in week 29 with 264 million ratings. The channel was at no.5 with 266 million ratings in the previous week.

&TV remained at no.7 with 139 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 114 million.

At no.8 stood Zee Anmol with 109.49 million ratings, also more than previous week’s 103 million.

Star Utsav remained at no.8 with improved viewership ratings of 109.45 million which were 101 million in week 29.

The tenth spot was acquired by Sony Pal with 94 million ratings, less than previous week’s 99 million.

Hindi GEC Rural:

Star Utsav remained to be the most watched show in the rural markets for the second consecutive week with 376 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 348 million.

Zee Anmol fetched 362 million ratings and stayed at no.2. The channel ahd 329 million ratings in week 29.

Sony Pal with 309 million ratings, less than previous week’s 313 million, remained at no.3.

Zee TV garnered 274 million ratings and stood at no.4, like the previous week. The channel had 280 million ratings in week 29.

Rishtey replaced Star Plus to acquire the fifth spot in week 30. The channel which had 204 million ratings in week 29 got 218 million ratings in week 30.

Star Plus slipped to the sixth spot with 217 million ratings. The channel had 218 million ratings in the previous week.

Colors remained at no.7 in the rural markets with 159 million ratings, less than previous week’s 169 million.

Life OK stayed at no.8 with 147 million ratings. The channel had 150 million ratings in the previous week.

Big Magic with improved ratings of 115 million ratings remained at no.9. The channel had 102 million ratings in week 29.

The tenth spot was acquired by Sony Enetrtainment Television, like previous week. The channel fetched 107 million ratings, higher than week 29’s 100 million.
