BARC Ratings: Nach Baliye 7 gets off to a good start; Gulmohar Grand and Mahabali Hanuman start slow

BARC ratings for week 18 (May 2 – 8, 2015) of Hindi GEC series has Saath Nibhana Saathiya still leading all the others and is followed by Yeh Hai Mohabbatein in second spot, both of which are running on Star Plus.  

According to data sourced from BARC subscribers for week 18, Star Plus at leadership position saw its ratings take a hit during the week. It declined to 501 GRPs in week 18 from 522 GRPs in week 17. Many of the shows had seen a decline during the week. This included Diya Aur Baati Hum, Tere Shehar Mein, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Manmarziyan which declined to 4.1, 1.8, 5.9, 4.7 and 1.2 TRPs in week 18 respectively from 4.5, 2.5, 6.5, 5.1 and 1.6 TRPs in week 17 respectively. Shows such as Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Tu Mera Hero, Veera and Suhani Si Ek Ladki increased in their ratings to 7.3, 4.5, 2.2 and 4.9 TRPs in week 18 from 7.1, 5.1, 2.0 and 4.5 TRPs in week 17. Newly launched show Nach Baliye season 7 in its first week of ratings got 3.0 TRPs, while another newly launched show Gulmohar Grand brought in ratings of only 1.1 TRPs.

Colors at No.2 saw its ratings stay the same as the previous week at 416 GRPs. The channel’s shows saw an equal number of incline and decline in ratings during the week. On the incline were shows such as Balika Vadhu, Sasural Simar Ka, Udaan, Swaragini, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat and India’s Got Talent which increased to 4.0, 5.5, 5.1, 4.3 and 5.2 TRPs in week 18 from 3.9, 5.1, 4.0, 3.8 and 4.6 TRPs in week 17 respectively. On the other hand, the shows that declined included Comedy Nights with Kapil, Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi and Code Red which their ratings in week 18 stood at 3.2, 4.5 and 2.5 TRPs from 4.9, 5.1 and 2.9 TRPs in week 17 respectively.    

Life OK at No.3 spot took a huge dip to 332 GRPs in week 18 from 377 GRPs in week 17. All its shows saw a declined during the week. Shapath, Dream Girl, Savdhaan India, Mahakumbh, Kalash, Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali and Comedy Classes all declined to 1.4, 1.0, 2.4, 1.1, 1.0, 0.9 and 1.9 TRPs in week 18 respectively from 1.7, 1.3, 2.5, 1.3, 1.2, 1.0 and 2.0 TRPs in week 17 respectively. 

Zee TV at No.4 spot too saw its ratings decline to 309 GRPs in week 18 from 348 GRPs in week 17. Most of the shows saw a marginal decline in their ratings, while a few of them saw increases. On the decline were Kumkum Bhagya, Hello Pratibha, Doli Armaano Ki, Satrangi Sasural, Maharakshak Devi, Rishton Ka Mela and Fear Files which all fell to 4.8, 1.3, 2.7, 2.9, 0.7, 0.8 and 2.6 TRPs in week 18 from 5.4, 1.6, 3.3, 3.0, 1.1, 1.0 and 5.2 TRPs in week 17. Fear Files saw the largest decline among the shows on the channel. Jodha Akbar, Qubool Hai, Jamai Raja, DID Super Moms season 2 and Neeli Chattri Wale increased to 2.9, 4.1, 3.8, 3.3 and 1.5 TRPs in week 18 from 2.5, 3.8, 3.7, 2.6 and 1.4 TRPs in week 17 respectively.  

Sab TV at No.5 spot also saw a large decline during this week to 196 GRPs in week 18 from 239 GRPs in week 17. All the shows on the channel saw a decline in week 18. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Chidiya Ghar, Bade Door Se Aaye Hai, Baal Veer, Yam Hai Hum, Peterson Hill and Beetal Aur Sinhasan Battisi declined to 3.1, 1.4, 0.9, 1.1, 1.1, 0.4 and 0.4 TRPs in week 18 from 4.2, 1.8, 1.5, 1.5, 1.2, 0.6 and 0.5 TRPs in week 17 respectively.

Sony TV at No.6 spot declined to 186 GRPs in week 18 from 223 GRPs in week 17. Most of the shows either took a tumble in week 18 or saw their ratings stay the same. CID, Maharana Pratap, Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar, Aahat, Bhanwar and Crime Patrol declined to 2.2, 1.1, 1.4, 1.7, 0.6 and 0.8 TRPs in week 18 from 2.5, 1.4, 1.7, 1.8, 0.7 and 2.2 TRPs in week 17 respectively. Shows such as Muh Boli Shaadi, Reporters and Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane stayed the same as last week at 0.4, 0.4, 0.6 TRPs. Mahabali Hanuman during its first week on screen scored a low ratings of 1.5 TRPs.    

&TV at No.7 spot in the Hindi GECs ratings board saw a marginal decline to 99 GRPs in week 18 from 100 GRPs in week 17. Most of the shows on the channel either saw a small dip in their ratings or stayed the same during the week. Razia Sultan was the only show to see a slight increase in its ratings. Shows such as Gangaa, Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls, Begusarai and Killer Karaoke declined to 0.6, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.3 TRPs in week 18 from 0.8, 0.3, 0.6 and 0.4 TRPs in week 17 respectively.
